Insisting that if Sadira is innocent there is no reason to run away, Aladdin boasts that he’ll protect her from the big mean merchant.

Because we already know Aladdin is kind of full of himself. And because girlfriend or no girlfriend he has this inherent need to show off, apparently. I have the impression, just because Iago and Abu are not freaking out, that it’s been a while since Sandswitch, and Aladdin has seen Sadira off and on a few times just around town, and they’ve been mostly harmless encounters that ended quickly.
Now she’s just as he left her after their first encounter – a misunderstood streetrat who might still have bit of a crush, but he’ll still be nice to her.
Leave alone that I’m getting a lot of wrong signals from him because of the way he says it, and because what she did in the previous episode was so fucked up that it just feels weird that he’s this friendly with her even though we know he forgot.
Oh, and here’s a lovely between frame we get when Farouk apparently throws himself out of a two story window to continue chasing Sadira.

Sadira. Sadira, run. No more doe eyes. Run.
(Can we just…all the horrible and wrong proportions here. Especially that arm he’s holding.)
