Production Code Episode 68 – Eye of the Beholder

Here by popular request! I remember thinking this episode was really cool when I was a kid, but beyond the basic premise and Mirage and Fasir’s involvement, I didn’t remember a whole lot about it. Rewatching this episode was a joy, and I think it’s one of the stand out episodes of the series. We’ll explore why.

Once again, if there are any episodes or specific characters you’d like me to cover, drop me a line!

Production Code Episode 43: In the Heat of the Fright

Mirage’s first episode and by this counting one of the first more serious villains to appear that wasn’t simply a one-off character. This one’ll be coming at you slowly, because I’m about two scenes into it and I’ve already found I have a million questions and thoughts.

Remember as always that I accept requests. Just know that if it’s a later episode for a recurring character I will have to cover their intro episodes first.

Production Code Episode 17 – The Prophet Motive

I received a request for the episode “Eye of the Beholder” and I explained I could address it when I’d introduced two key characters featured therein. One is Mirage, who’ll come up in the next episode, but before that, another key character.

I actually did not know said character’s intro episode was this one, because I always thought it came much later in the series. (I actually thought the first episode for this character was “Do the Rat Thing.”) You see, the full run of Aladdin episodes did not all come together on one channel. One set of episodes were aired weekdays on the Disney Afternoon, but concurrently, another set ran on Saturday mornings on CBS. I didn’t discover the Saturday morning episodes until I’d been watching the Disney Afternoon for a long time, so I always thought the CBS episodes took place later in the series. I was wrong. This was actually the 17th episode written.

Production Code Episode 14 – Strike Up the Sand

By special request, I’m skipping ahead to Sadira’s introductory episode. She still comes pretty early in the production order compared to others, such as Mirage (who won’t appear until PC episode 43) and Mozenrath (who doesn’t put in his first appearance until PC episode 70).

Remember my ask box is open for special requests. Just know that if it’s for a character with multiple episodes, I won’t do one of their later appearances until after I’ve done their introductory episode.
